Drive By Truckers

Drive By Truckers

It was a brisk winter's evening when Drive-By Truckers rolled into town to warm things up for the eager folks gathered in the Blue Room. The alternative country group was co-founded by Patterson Hood and his longtime friend, roommate, and musical partner Mike Cooley in Athens, Georgia back in 1996. Since then, it's been constant touring, a few lineup changes, and lauded live shows that developed into a loyal following. Possessing a knack for storytelling on top of thunderous guitar riffs, these guys are likely to withstand the test of a time as staple in your record collection.

The Truckers performed hits from their double decade-long catalog including "Get Downtown," "Pulaski," and "Love Like This." A rousing Southern rock evening was taken up a notch on the b-side when Patterson Hood's father, David, of the Muscle Shoal's Rhythm Section joined his son on stage for a number.
