Known for his work with The Gun Club, The Cramps and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Kid Congo and his band, The Pink Monkey Birds, have carved out a place for themselves in the competitive world of underground music by taking the building blocks of primeval rock and roll and pushing them to their furthest conceivable limits. This philosophy will undoubtedly strike a chord in fans of foundational punk music (and Ramones fans especially).
Their live recording from the Third Man Records Nashville Blue Room, officially out tomorrow, October 27th, features two banger tracks — “Psychic Future” and “La Araña” — hot off their 2016 album La Araña Es La Vida on In The Red Records. Compared to the studio tracks, these live recordings are just slightly faster, a bit tidier and definitely more urgent. The shining star has gotta be the rhythm section, especially on "La Araña", which belts out an addictive thump from start to finish.
Limited edition blue 7"s will be available EARLY to attendees TONIGHT at NY Night Train Haunted Hop Halloween Tour w/ Jonathan Toubin at Third Man Records Cass Corridor in Detroit, which also happens to feature a live performance by Kid Congo! Tickets are available here. Wear a costume. Bring your dancing shoes. Don't be late!

This November, Jack White will introduce young music lovers to the beloved White Stripes song “We’re Going To Be Friends” with his first children’s book of the same name and inspired by its lyrics. Jack and Third Man Books will celebrate the book with pre-release readings and signings at Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 4th at 2pm and at Barnes & Noble’s Upper West Side store located on Broadway and 82nd Street in New York City on Saturday, November 11th at 11am. Along with Jack, the book’s illustrator Elinor Blake (a.ka. April March) will be on hand for the signings and as a special guest DJ at both events.

The New York Times profiled Price in an extensive feature that ran this morning, read that here. Price will also appear as a guest on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on Oct 24. All American Made is out everywhere via Third Man Records next Friday, October 20th. Pre-order: http://smarturl.it/allamericanmade
The early response to ‘All American Made’ has been stellar, with Pitchfork calling Price “an artist with a voice as big as the Batman Building and a facility for wryly updating old-school country conventions,” and Elle declaring her “Country music’s most exciting new truth-teller.” Cut primarily at Sam Phillip Recording in Memphis, All American Made expands on the scope and ambition that made her debut ‘Midwest Farmers Daughter’ one of the biggest country breakouts of last year. On All American Made, Price deals with issues like politics and sexism head-on, adding touches of classic soul and R&B to her real-deal country foundation.
Fresh off a run of opening dates with Chris Stapleton, Price and her band will play a special in-store performance at Grimey’s in Nashville on October 17th as well as a sold out release show at Rough Trade Brooklyn on Oct 19th, before launching their ‘Nowhere Fast’ headline tour in early 2018. They’ll also play select shows with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill later this month, including Oct 27th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Ticket info here: http://margoprice.net/tour/

'MAKE TROUBLE' AVAILABLE ON VINYL 7" TODAY
King of cult John Waters has long been an idol of the the creative hive of maladjusted artsy types here at Third Man Records. We are pleased to release the audio album release of "Make Trouble," Waters' subversive commencement speech published earlier this year by Algonquin Books, and now read by Waters himself. Make Trouble, the record, is available in full digitally today, with a companion 7" single of the same name, featuring Waters' reading of his commencement speech at RISD in its entirety, out today. The recordings are produced by Grammy-winner Ian Brennan (Tinariwen, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Zomba Prison Project).
The speech begins with Waters explaining his qualifications to provide the graduating students the last word of their college education. "I should say right off that I am really qualified to be your commencement speaker. I was suspended from high school, then kicked out of college in the first marijuana scandal ever on the university campus. I've been arrested several times. I've been known to dress in ludicrous fashions. I've also built a career out of negative reviews. And I've been recently called the prince of puke by the press and another title I'm really proud of - the people's pervert."
Waters spoke with NPR's Linda Wertheimer this Spring about the book, the fact that it was written in Obama's America and released in Trump's America, saying, "I don't believe that we should never not talk to people we don't agree with politically. If you can make that person laugh, it's the first step to getting him to listen to change their mind."
Listen to or purchase Make Trouble now at your preferred digital retailer, and purchase the vinyl 7" spoken word record now. The limited edition red vinyl version of the 7”, which went on sale in advance to attendees at Waters’ Rough Trade East in-store event and signing last night in London, is also available today at both Third Man Records storefronts.
